AIR EXCAVATION

Pro-Vac (formerly Kantex) operates a fleet of air and hydro-excavation equipment to meet the needs of the project at hand. Both Air and Hydro have benefits and promote safe, non-destructive alternatives to mechanical excavation. Within our fleet of Air and Hydro trucks are various types and sizes of equipment, one of which is the best solution for the clients needs. Kantex is the only major nationwide contractor to operate and maintain a fleet of both types of equipment to bring the right solution to any project or need, some of which are listed below.

Air Vacuum excavation is process using high-pressure air to loosen soils. An air vacuum is used to move the loose soil and rocks into a debris tank for later disposal, or back-filling the hole that's been excavated.

Benefits and Features of Air Excavation:

  • Spoils from excavations can be immediately used as backfill material
  • Smaller 1-3 cubic yard spoils tanks allow for quick dumping and returning to excavating activities
  • Adjustable air-knife pressures help adopt to any soil condition; lower psi's with air-knives are particularly useful around fiber-optic or other sensitive buried utilities
  • Smaller 4x4 units allow for rough-terrain, remote excavations not accessible by either mechanical or hydro means
  • Smaller units allow for access into tight space in plants, also not accessible by other means
  • Air excavation can be used when the introduction of water cannot be tolerated (due to pipeline repair or related work) or into the aquifer
